Decent Filipino casual buffet restaurant for a quick bite when in Woodside. The food is somewhat variable: at times very tasty, other times, mostly salty and the meat a bit dry. Still, the price is right and it's clean. They have a restroom and a Filipino channel on the TV in the dining area.
One of the most affordable filipino restos around woodside... They have a lot of variaties of food to choose from. They have 2 combos or value meals that you can order. Combo 1 which is $7.50 (where you can choose 2 dishes of your choice with 1 cup of steamed rice and a bottled water), the other one is Combo 2 meal for $9.99 (where you can choose 3 dishes of your choice with 1 cup of stemaed rice and a bottled water) which is what we got.
For the food, We ordered Bicol Express, Dinuguan and Tocino. It was not bad for the first two dishes, but for the Tocino... the tocino marinade tastes more like pineapple alone and the meat was really really tough, that my daughter can't even bite or chew it well. For the dessert, we ordered the Leche Flan (which is really good, no lumps inside the flan. Tastes just the way how it should be. Two thumbs for this one). Almost all the desserts are $5 each except for the Flan which is $5.50. Still a good price.
The resto has also other local products from the Philippines which you can buy before or after you eat. While you dine, you can also enjoy watching tv shows from the Philippines.
When it comes to the staff, I think they need a little more energy in welcoming their customers. Needs to smile and greet people coming in and out of their resto so that people will come back and dine again.

Eat the World NYC review:
No matter what time of day the steam table at this turo turo Filipino restaurant in Woodside looks quite fresh, with a selection of 20 items or so. Pick two or three with rice and a custom meal is served to you immediately. You can choose freshly cooked fish, vegetable and many different meats to make a different meal each time you swing by. These two options, bopis and dinuguan, went down well and are both recommended. Check out the full article on our website for more descriptions of the food.
On rainy school days โ๐, my yaya ๐ฉโ๐ง would surprise us with ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ผ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ผ โbinignit in Bisayaโ (๐ต๐ญ coconut milk soup with sticky rice balls), served hot to warm us up ๐ฅฐ
The stars of the soup are the sticky rice balls, second by sago pearls, the coconut milk ๐ฅฅ๐ฅ thickened with ube and taro ๐๐ finished with saba bananas and jackfruits ๐๐. What is your favorite merienda dish?
Told only a buffet. But other people were ordering from kitchen. We asked, but it was not explained why we couldn't order. Pork kebab was all fat. Vegetables were in a fish sauce. I specifically told them I don't eat fish. Garlic rich was good. Wife enjoyed her sausages. Not worth going.
Clean place, delicious Filipino food and friendly staff! Prices are reasonable. Fair serving sizes. Free Tagalog entertainment, thanks to their TV that's usually tuned into TFC. My faves: pinapaitan, sisig and monggo. ๐They also offer dry goods, halo-halo and brazo de Mercedes. โฆ
Itโs a cheap and quick meal, so my expectations were already low but they somehow โlimboโd under it. Food was cold (even after they microwaved it), the rice was half dry-half gloopy, and the food was either overseasoned with the entire oceanโs salt or so dry that it sucked all the residual taste from my tongue. And people are right to call it cheap, but that only applies in comparison to its competitors within the area (theyโre far too overpriced). In terms of just quality and quantity, I can find far cheaper and abudent food around the area.
